1. Challenge / Opportunity

Senior living staff were juggling multiple siloed systems with no interoperability, leading to wasted time and errors. We saw an opportunity to consolidate resident care data into a single source of truth.

2. Approach

1. Discovery

User research uncovered Incident Reports as the universal workflow pain point.

2. Design Strategy

Anchor on a wedge workflow, explore timeline visualization, prioritize mobile-first design.

3. Execution

Lo-fi mockups → Figma prototypes → user feedback. Engineering collaboration from day one.

4. Outcomes

MVP launched in 8 weeks in 4 pilot communities.

Pivoted to tablet-first and sustained adoption.

Used across 22 senior living orgs nationwide.

Expanded the app to have additional workflows.

5. Learnings

Start with the wedge.

Solve one universal pain point first. Then iterate with new workflows.

Design for mobility.

Staff are rarely at a desk. Make sure they can take the app with them.

Earn users' trust.

Keep workflows simple, acknowledge tech fatigue.
